| So in my rather desperate effort to be a little less homely I secured for my sanity an anti-homely kit. My anti-homely kit basically consisted of scented body wash, body spray, hand cream, and body lotion. Being the opposite of homely is expensive . Anyhow because of my fairly nice gift to myself I am a little less homely. Thats always a good thing. | | |

| So Victoria has no secret in Ireland. Yes there is in fact not a single Victoria Secret in Ireland. This only asks the question as to whether or not Irish women wear underwear. So the maid job continues in full force. Today we cleaned an countless number of rooms that we will never be afford to stay in. I believe it was Ford and the Model T in which he believed that the products the employees worked on should be affordable for the employees to purchase. Sadly, though it is not within my or any of the other employees budget. My co-workers consists of potentially the most random group of individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. There is one Italian male, 6 Polish women, 1 Polish man, 2 Romanians, and another American. We have some bizarre conversations. Our supervisor is a British women who reminds of the one from one of the reality cleaning shows. Then entire situation is beyond odd, but very humourous. Because of the closely approaching deadline on the hotel they have retained all the cleaning staff for over the weekend on overtime (pretty awesome considering tomorrow's pay is about $130). Plus, because of the temporary nature of the work we really have no possibility of being fired. Currently work has dominated my life but we'll see what the future holds. | | |
| Still alive and kicking Currently I am working at a hotel as a maid. However I'm cleaning renovation things because the hotel is not open to the public but its an uber awesome hotel. They also have a whole lot of celebrity rooms where famous people once stayed. I was told there was Tchaikovsky room and I'm tempted to break in since they gave us master keys (which open every room in the hotel). Less exciting rooms include the JFK and Michael Collins room. They also have a Princess Grace Room (which amuses me that here they refer to her as Princess Grace and in the US everyone refers to her as Grace Kelly). The Princess Grace room by far is the nicest room in the entire hotel. | | |
| “Something is taking its course” Despite the multiple interpretations to the rather known quote by Samuel Beckett, it is still rather concerning on what he truly meant when he said that in Endgame. What exactly is taking its course? It is my rather plain-jane inference that the quote was in reference to a passive indifference to human life. The course to which Beckett seemed to randomly refer to actually had none of the randomness the quote conferred. Instead it is the direct and purposeful attack on those who let the randomness dictate their lives. It may even be further leap to claim that his quote was also in relation to how these people had the same passivity in how they treated others. | | |
